Dermal Fillers 2017-11-28T16:46:50+00:00

For those patients seeking options to further minimize wrinkles or the signs of aging, we offer dermal fillers. This service is a great compliment to your botox/dysport treatment, giving a more overall youthful look to the face. Options like Restylane, Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, Juvéderm, Voluma, and Radiesse beautifully restore volume to areas of the face that become depleted as we age.

Your skin consists of two layers known as the epidermis and the dermis. The epidermis, or outer layer of the skin, acts as the skin’s primary defense against the environment. The dermis, or innermost layer of the skin, is composed primarily of connective tissue and provides the skin with a support network. Most facial wrinkles and deeper folds occur within the dermal layer of the skin.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring molecule. Much like a sponge, its primary function is to bind and absorb water, which creates volume in the face. In this way, hyaluronic acid can be thought of as the body’s internal moisturizer. But, as we age, HA diminishes, which contributes to the presence of lines and folds. Injectable gel form of HA works to correct this by restoring hyaluronic acid in your skin, helping to diminish wrinkles.

Dermal fillers are a generic term for injectable products that are used for non-surgical, facial cosmetic treatments to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles or significantly reduce the visibility of lines and wrinkles, add contour, create volume, address dark under-eye circles, and revitalize the skin for a more youthful appearance.  Dermal fillers can restore a youthful fullness to the face.  For shallow contour lines, creases, and wrinkles, injectable filler treatments could provide the natural results that you desire – a fresh and younger-looking appearance.  Although they won’t help with excess sagging skin, dermal fillers can often be used for what is called a liquid facelift. Face fillers can offer many of the benefits of a surgical facelift without the expense or downtime required for surgery.  Improvement can be seen almost immediately after the first treatment.  Dermal fillers give a natural look that do not affect the facial expression.  Using a fine needle, Amy or Laura will ease filler under the skin to fill the soft tissue of the dermis. This adds volume and diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and folds instantly.  At times, we may choose to use a blunt tip cannula for administration of the filler.

There is always a potential for some bruising, but most often little to no recovery time is required, and the procedure can be completed in as little as 30 minutes.  This non-surgical facelift enables you to subtly control your looks as you age.

While there are a variety of hyaluronic acid fillers, we will discuss in your personalized consultation which HA gel is best for you and the result we are looking to achieve.

Radiesse is a voluminizing dermal filler providing an instant lift and filling wrinkles and folds to help restore a more youthful look to your skin. It is made of tiny calcium-based microspheres which are suspended in a natural water based gel. This product is different in that it continues to work with your body, stimulating the natural production of collagen that can last 12-18 month or more in many patients.

At Pure 111 we use a topical numbing cream prior to treatment. All of our filler incorporate lidocaine into the product further minimizing discomfort. Most patients verbalize a feeling of pressure rather then discomfort. The most common adverse events include bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness and itching. These side effects generally last for a short time and are mild in nature. Dermal filler should not be used on people who have an allergy to any components of the product. For a full list of complications and risk please call our office.

Dermal filler is one of the safest non surgical treatments performed. It is not permanent, which can be helpful to alleviate patient concerns. The top complication with filler is actually not caused by the product itself, but in fact is most commonly due to an inexperienced injector. The risks increase because a novice injector can cause undesirable outcomes for the patient if they inject an inappropriate amount of product into the incorrect layer of skin.

This is where we come in. Our practice is focused and dedicated to the treatment and result of your injectable treatment. This is what we do all day every day.
