Facial Rejuvenation With PRP

Regenerative Skin Renewal in Fairview Heights, IL

Restoring the health and glow of your skin starts with treatments that support how your skin works, not just how it looks. Facial rejuvenation with PRP uses growth factors drawn from your blood to stimulate natural collagen production and skin renewal. Using this treatment, we can improve texture, tone and overall skin quality without using synthetic ingredients.

At Pure 111 Medical Aesthetics in Fairview Heights, IL, all of our treatments are performed with your comfort in mind, using techniques that reduce irritation while focusing on effective results. You can expect a simple, straightforward experience with ongoing support for your skin’s health and appearance.

What is PRP?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, which is a component of your blood containing concentrated platelets and growth factors. These growth factors are used by the body to heal and regenerate. To prepare PRP, a small amount of your blood is drawn and processed to separate out the platelets from other blood components. The resulting plasma has a higher concentration of platelets than normal blood, making it useful in both medical and cosmetic settings.

How Does PRP Work in Aesthetic Treatments?

PRP can be used to activate the skin’s natural repair process by signaling fibroblasts and other regenerative cells. The platelets release growth factors that stimulate collagen production, increase circulation and promote tissue renewal. This process can improve the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture and dullness. During this treatment, we inject PRP into specific areas of the face to trigger the body’s natural healing response.

What are the benefits of PRP Facial Rejuvenation?

PRP facial rejuvenation is a good choice for patients looking for natural, minimally invasive skin treatments. We use a simple process that works with your body’s healing system.

Some of the benefits of choosing this treatment include:

  • Use of your own blood, reducing the risk of reaction or sensitivity
  • No synthetic ingredients or foreign substances involved
  • Short treatment sessions, typically under an hour
  • Minimal downtime compared to more invasive options
  • Paired easily with other treatments for enhanced effects
  • Safe to repeat periodically for ongoing skin support
  • Supports natural collagen production without adding excessive volume

Who are the ideal candidates for PRP Facial Rejuvenation?

Because PRP uses the patient’s blood rather than other substances, this treatment is suitable for a wide range of candidates. PRP facial rejuvenation may be right for you if you have:

  • Mild to moderate skin concerns
  • Loss of volume due to aging
  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Sun damage
  • Enlarged pores
  • Mild skin laxity
  • Acne scars
  • Fine lines and crepiness

PRP treatments can be used for patients of all skin types, including those with dry, oily, combination or sensitive skin, and patients of all skin tones can benefit from the treatment. In some situations, your provider may choose to use PDGF+ in place of PRP.

What to Expect During Your PRP Facial?

01 / Step One: Preparing the Platelet-Rich Plasma

After creating your treatment plan and deciding where to place the injections, we will begin the process of harvesting the PRP. We will perform a blood draw, taking a vial or two of blood from your arm. Once we have collected the blood, you can relax while the vials are spun in a centrifuge at high speeds. When the straw-colored plasma is separated from the other components, it is carefully extracted and placed in a syringe for injection.

02 / Step Two: Preparing the Skin

We want you to be comfortable during the injection process, so we offer topical numbing cream and may use other strategies to minimize pain with injections. We will also cleanse the skin of makeup or debris to create a sterile environment for the treatment.

03 / Step Three: Injecting the PRP

Once the PRP and your skin have been prepared, we can begin injecting the material into the skin. For some areas, such as under the eyes, we will inject the PRP superficially. Other areas may benefit from deeper injections. You will receive multiple injections during one treatment to help the benefits be distributed evenly.

Preparing & Recovering

Preparation

Before your PRP treatment for the face, stay well hydrated and eat a light meal so your blood draw goes smoothly. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen or aspirin for several days and come with clean skin, free of makeup or skincare products. If you have any recent changes in your health or medications, let us know before the appointment.

Recovery

Injections can sometimes cause redness at the injection points, and there may be mild swelling and bruising. You can minimize bruising by refraining from alcohol and blood-thinning medications or supplements before and after your treatment. You may notice some improvements right away, but the full results of PRP injections will take several weeks to become apparent. Your body needs time to respond to the treatment through increased collagen production and healing.

About Us

Pure 111 Medical Aesthetics began with a simple setup, a passion for facial anatomy and a $2,500 investment in a backyard pool house. We’ve grown from treating friends and neighbors to serving a wide community from our Fairview Heights location, where we now operate out of a dedicated building with a staff of ten. The name “Pure 111” comes from the vertical frown lines between the brows, and is a reminder of the cosmetic concerns that first inspired our founder, Amy Katsikas, to dive into aesthetic medicine.

Years of hands-on training, mentoring under dermatologists and plastic surgeons, and an ongoing drive to study facial anatomy shaped how Amy approaches every treatment. As a practice, we focus on offering effective options backed by skill and experience. With every treatment, we emphasize comfort, precision, and results that work with your natural features.

FAQs About PRP for Facial Rejuvenation

How long does the treatment take?

Plan for about 45 to 60 minutes for each session. That includes drawing your blood, processing the PRP, and applying or injecting it into the areas being treated. Your appointment time may vary depending on how many areas we are treating and other factors.

Is PRP painful?

A PRP facial can cause mild discomfort, but topical numbing cream can keep you as comfortable as possible. Injections can feel like a brief pinch that is more noticeable in some areas than others. We will check in with you throughout the treatment to make sure you are still comfortable.

How soon will I see results?

You may begin to notice improvements in texture and tone within a couple of weeks. Results continue to build gradually as collagen production increases and the skin responds to the growth factors. Full results often appear after several weeks, with continued improvement over the next few months.

Can PRP be combined with other treatments?

Many patients choose to combine PRP with microneedling or laser treatments to enhance results. Certain treatments can amplify collagen stimulation and lead to more noticeable improvements in skin quality. Other patients benefit from just the PRP facial without other treatments. Some aesthetic treatments can be performed on the same day, while others need to be spread out. We can discuss all of your options during your consultation.

How is PRP different from dermal fillers?

PRP stimulates your own collagen production and promotes subtle and natural-looking changes. Dermal fillers provide volume immediately by placing a gel-like substance beneath the skin. Both have their place, but PRP focuses on skin health and regeneration, while fillers focus on structural enhancement.

How many PRP treatments will I need?

Many patients start with a series of treatments spaced about a month to six weeks apart. After the initial series, you might choose maintenance treatments once or twice a year, depending on your goals and how your skin responds. We can assess your skin and make recommendations based on what will work best for you.

What areas can be treated with PRP injections?

We use PRP injections to treat areas where the skin has started to lose elasticity, volume, or smooth texture. Common treatment areas include the cheeks, under the eyes, around the mouth, and along the jawline. We can also target acne scars or areas with uneven tone that would benefit from improved circulation and collagen support. Each treatment plan can focus on one area or multiple zones, depending on what your skin needs.
