Your 1’s, 11’s, or 111’s are vertical lines between your brows, also known as frown lines. In the beginning, they would appear only when making facial expressions; but years of squinting and frowning, combined with lost skin elasticity due to age, causes those lines to become permanently etched on your face—even when your muscles are not contracting. This is where BOTOX or Dysport, a Botox alternative, come in. With a few tiny injections, these injectable wrinkle relaxers work to reduce muscle contractions that cause persistent 1’s, 11’s, or 111’s to form. These injectables also work to reduce the appearance of forehead lines and crow’s feet.
BOTOX OFFERS NO SURGERY, NO RECOVERY TIME
BOTOX/DYSPORT treatment is a quick, 10-minute procedure that requires no downtime or recovery. With a few tiny injections, there is a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe lines between the brows, around the eyes, and on the forehead. This procedure not only treats visible unwanted lines but is also an important preventative treatment. Limiting and softening the muscle contractions in these areas will prevent the deepening and the development of new and existing lines.
Botox and Dysport are FDA approved medications for treatment that is quick, easy and convenient. These safe and well researched medications give a beautiful result. Results are usually seen within the first 3-14 days and have been proven to last up to four months. You will look younger, rested and refreshed. It’s you at your best!
IS BOTOX/DYSPORT SAFE?
BOTOX/DYSPORT is the most popular non surgical cosmetic treatment in the world. In 2017, 7.2 million injections were performed in the United States.
It is derived from bacteria that temporarily blocks nerve activity and lasts 3-4 months. BOTOX and DYSPORT have a stellar safety record when performed by skilled professionals.
BOTOX AND DYSPORT are also used for medical conditions such as chronic migraines, TMJ, overactive bladder and spasms in the neck.
Many of our clients return every 4 months to continue their treatment for prevention. Pure 111 is noted for their advanced injectors that are able to perform complex injections in unique areas for treatments such as brow lift, downturned mouth, hyperhidrosis of palms and armpits, and dimpled chin.
Preventive BOTOX is making a move for those who want to prevent the aging process before it starts.
Treatments like Micro BOTOX are also a part of our practice. This cutting edge treatment offers a diluted form of the toxin injected into areas that previously were not thought to be treatable. This innovative technique opens new dimensions of skin rejuvenation of the face and neck as well as acne.
The guidelines to follow post treatment have been followed for years, and are still employed today to prevent the possible side effect of ptosis (drooping eyelid). These measures should minimize the possibility of ptosis almost 98%
No straining, heavy lifting, vigorous exercise for 3-4 hours following treatment. It is now known that if takes the toxin approximately 2 hours to bind itself to the nerve and we do not want to increase circulation to that area which may cause increased dispersion into areas we did not intend to treat. This waiting period continues to be recommended by most practitioners.
Avoid Manipulation of area for 3-4 hours following treatment. (For the same reasons listed above.) This includes not doing a facial, peel, or microdermabrasion after treatment.
Do not lie down flat or bend over for 3-4 hours following treatment.
It can take 3-14 days to take full effect. It is recommended that the patient contact office no later than 2 weeks after treatment if desired effect was not achieved and no sooner to give toxin time to work.
Makeup may be applied before leaving the office.
BOTOX/DYSPORT COMPLICATIONS AND RISKS
Botox/Dysport is one of the safest non surgical treatments performed. The most common risks include a bruise, droopy eyelid, droopy eyebrow, temporary facial paralysis or an unsatisfactory aesthetic result such as a surprised look. The results are not permanent, which can be helpful to alleviate patient concerns. The top complication with Botox is actually not caused by the product itself, but in fact is most commonly due to an inexperienced injector. The injector needs to have a solid and comprehensive understanding and knowledge of facial anatomy and understand dosage and placement of the medication.

DO YOU STILL HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT BOTOX?
If so, you can find answers to the most commonly asked questions about Botox below.
HOW LONG DOES BOTOX LAST?
Injection of this material into the small muscles between the brows, in the forehead, and around the eyes causes those specific muscles to be weakened, thereby improving the appearance of the wrinkles. This weakness is temporary and continued treatments is necessary every three to six months to maintain results.
HOW IS BOTOX USED?
Using a very tiny needle, small amounts of BOTOX®/ DYSPORT® Cosmetic are injected into the muscles to be weakened. Depending on the areas being treated, multiple injections may be required. Discomfort is minimal and lasts only a few seconds.
BOTOX/DYSPORT SIDE EFFECTS
Occasionally, the needle may touch a small blood vessel during the injection, and a bruise may develop. Such an area can last 5 to 10 days and may require makeup to cover. If any of the medication reaches a facial muscle not being treated, partial weakness of that muscle may last for several months. There are no recognized permanent side effects of BOTOX/DYSPORT. BOTOX/DYSPORT has been used safely in the treatment of muscular facial spasms for approximately 15 years.
