What Do Dermal Fillers Help With?

Your skin consists of two layers known as the epidermis and the dermis. The epidermis, or outer layer of the skin, acts as the skin’s primary defense against the environment. The dermis, or innermost layer of the skin, is composed primarily of connective tissue and provides the skin with a support network. Most facial wrinkles and deeper folds occur within the dermal layer of the skin.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring molecule. Much like a sponge, its primary function is to bind and absorb water, which creates volume in the face. In this way, hyaluronic acid can be thought of as the body’s internal moisturizer. But, as we age, HA diminishes, which contributes to the presence of lines and folds. Injectable gel form of HA works to correct this by restoring hyaluronic acid in your skin, helping to diminish wrinkles.

Dysport® or Botox® Complications & Risks

Botox®/Dysport® is one of the safest non surgical treatments performed. The most common risks include a bruise, droopy eyelid, droopy eyebrow, temporary facial paralysis or an unsatisfactory aesthetic result such as a surprised look. The results are not permanent, which can be helpful to alleviate patient concerns. The top complication with Botox® is actually not caused by the product itself, but in fact is most commonly due to an inexperienced injector. The injector needs to have a solid and comprehensive understanding and knowledge of facial anatomy and understand dosage and placement of the medication.

This is where we come in. Our practice is focused and dedicated to the result of your injectable treatment. This is what we do all day every day. This is not a side portion or supplement to our business. This IS our business. We take every precaution, attend every advanced training available and keep current with all the journals and key opinion leaders in this amazing and ever-changing industry.

Botox® and Dysport® are popular injectable treatments for dynamic wrinkles, but the products should be used safely and effectively to achieve the best possible results.
